Appreciation

I’ve had Appreciation on my mind
On the other side of that blindfold
Shielding bad and worsened days
Blocking so much of anything for
Anyone to say in print, it replays in
Invented slow motion prevention
Just to save itself from a blinding,
Wiping while the mask comes off
At night, it’s alright in darkness of
A thought, dreams, prayers where
Speech is much easier defended,
Bending should haves against it
Wouldn’t be rights, hurts, coulds,
You’d think at the brink ofs, shuts
Out of where they planted, hands
Or word of how are, I’m sorry, left
Blank as shallow padded cloth on
Eyes, tight in sunlight, wide open,
Knowing at the set, the name was
Given as thanks, maybe unspoken,
Typed, I’ve heard and seen behind
