A Day In The Country

Piecing dreams from shapes that seeped
At first light looking obscure on purpose
Interpreted in some deeper meaning of a
Person, place, running, falling, kind of thing

As a walking water tower like a tourer guide
Shifting over the horizon of a corn field
Party with representatives from countries
Passing bags of red liquorish back and forth

There is no white horse or moat as expected
As the sun rides off into those endless rows
While crowds found their way out of the maze
Turned to striped blankets waving goodbye

Shamed to think the lack of dramatic exits or
Pink and orange hand held sunset sighs
Merely closed their eyes like any other night
Ordinarily after spending a day in the country
